THANK YOU TO ALL WHO VOLUNTEERED AND PARTICIPATED
Our President, Darlene Elsa, said it was a joy to see those four 40-yard dumpsters and a flatbed truck come rolling in to Tanglewood North on Spring Clean/Dumpster Day. Valley Vista Waste Services once again provided those plus the e-waste collection bin saving you, the HOA, thousands of dollars. We ordered Coastal Community Shredding for two hours so we had that additional service at a discount price to make sure we had all of the services you needed to Spring Clean your homes and garages.
Kathy Zajac handled all of the Garage Sales here and for the HOA’s across Ball Road so we’d all make more money. Kathy also provided all volunteers and participants with a wonderful free hot dog and hamburger free lunch.
Our Short-wave Radio system was run by Candace Workman, Commander of our Emergency Preparedness. She took orders with the O’Toole’s assistance prior to the event and all day of the event.
Dumpsters were run by John Marino and a helper along with dumping participants and, as always – our truck drivers. The hardest workers were our three pickup and delivery services trucks. They were: Steven Garner – Jana Blazek – Adam Garner – Linda Wilde – Lisa Wilde. Steven and Jana worked the day before as well.
E-Waste volunteers were Chuck and Jo Ann Larson in the morning and Flo Buchanan in the afternoon.
Brian Park, TNHOA’s Korean Community Liaison, worked in the command center, e-waste and dumpster areas as needed.
Pet bedding collections for the Seal Beach Animal Shelter were handled by Mark Hahn. Mark drove donations over to the shelter afterward where they were gratefully received.
Safety Officer, out in the street directing traffic, was Board of Director Secretary, Rose Bucklew. She also worked radios and shredding.
Pat O’Toole and Spencer Fitches were our all-purpose volunteers setting up and taking down all of the equipment we needed at the Command Center, pitching in all areas and storing at the end of the day. Pat was first in for the day and last to go home.
My assistant was Roberta O’Toole. We coordinated the day and volunteers once again to help make Tanglewood North “A Special Place To Live.”
Ruth Schnipper, Board of Director, Community Relations Chair
